چکیده

The development of paraventricular porencephalic diverticula following ventriculography (Fig. 1 and 2) has been described in children suffering from moderate hydrocephalus (Lorber and Grainger, 1963; Grainger and Lorber, 1963; Lorber and Emery, 1964). The present case illustrates such a lesion existing in an apparently normal child some years after ventriculography. It further illustrates that a latent neurological deficit may be made manifest by the action of sedative drugs. tinued to have occasional fever. On the day of admission he walked normally across the street to his grandparents' house. He spent several hours there and took a short nap. When woken to be taken home he was found to be drowsy and ataxic. The house contained many medicines, including 'heart pills', chlorothiazide, asthma remedies, and tranquillizers, but it was denied that he had had access to these. He became progressively stuporous and was admitted to the hospital.. Significant past history was that the patient had been born in a military hospital where subdural taps and

Proposed Classification of Periampullary Diverticulum and its Role on Performing ERCP and Post ERCP Complication

Introduction: Duodenal diverticula are pouches of the mucosa, submucosa, and scattered muscle cells that extend through the intestinal wall. In this study, we aimed to classify the papilla position according to presence of PAD and evaluate the impact of papilla position on the success rate and post ERCP complication in the patients with PAD. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on...

The study of infantile hydrocephalus with combined air and isotope ventriculography.

A method for a combined air and isotope ventriculography is described. Twenty-nine infants with suspected hydrocephalus were studied. The merit of the combined study is the possibility of obtaining both anatomical and functional information. A very small amount of radioactivity-15 μc-was found to give satisfactory results. Patterns of cerebrospinal fluid flow in communicating and non-communicat...

Congenital left ventricular diverticulum in an adult.

A previously healthy 43-year-old woman presentedwithatypical chest discomfort. On physical examination, no abnormal findings were obtained. The electrocardiogram was not suggestive of ischaemia. Echocardiography revealed an aneurysm extending from the left ventricular posterior wall (Panel C). This pouch showed paradoxical contraction with a relatively thin wall. No thrombus was seen in the lef...

Surgical correction of urethral diverticulum in a female pseudo-hermaphrodite crossbred calf

A 40 kg crossbred calf of one month age was presented to the Institute Referral Polyclinic, with a history of dysuria, stranguria along with a fluctuant swelling in the mid-perineal region. On physical examination, a diverticulum was observed which on aspiration revealed urine. It was reported that urine outflow was from a tiny orifice at the proposed natural site of the vulva. Dissection of th...

Left ventricular diverticulum and mitral incompetence in asymptomatic children.

Two children with congenital apical left ventricular diverticulum and significant mitral incompetence are reported. The angiographic and anatomic findings of the few previously reported patients with congenital diverticula and aneurysm were analyzed and a new classification differentiating between the two is proposed. The clinical data analyzed in apical diverticula and aneurysm are similar to ...
